The basics

What is an Instagram Carousel Downloader?

A carousel is one Instagram post that holds several photos or videos. You swipe left to see the next slide, and the little dots under the post show how many there are — up to 20. Carousels are popular for photo dumps, travel albums, recipes, “before and after” posts, product pages and step-by-step guides.

Saving a carousel by hand is slow. You have to swipe, take a screenshot, crop it, and do it again for every slide — and each screenshot loses quality. An Instagram carousel downloader does the hard part for you. You paste the link of the post once, and Insta Video Download lists every image slide as a separate, full-size picture. You then save the slides you want.

Who is it for?

  • Creators who want to keep the slides of their own carousel posts and infographics.
  • Learners who want to keep a helpful step-by-step guide that was posted as slides.
  • Shops and brands who need copies of their own product albums.
  • Friends who were tagged in a public photo dump and want clean copies, with the owner’s permission.

The tool only reads public posts. It is designed for content you own or are allowed to save.

Key features

What the carousel tool offers

Real features only — here is exactly what you get.

All image slides from one link

Paste the post link once and see every image slide together.

Pick what you keep

Each slide has its own download button, so you can skip the ones you don’t need.

Original order

Slides are listed in the same order as in the post. That matters for guides and infographics.

Full-size pictures

Each slide is the largest image Instagram stores for it — not a screenshot.

Online and app-free

It runs in your browser. Nothing to install.

Any device

Works on phones, tablets and computers.

No account

No sign-up, no e-mail and no Instagram login.

Free

Free to use. Very fast repeated requests are slowed down briefly to keep the service stable.

One simple link

The whole carousel shares one link — you don’t need a link for each slide.

Step by step

How to download an Instagram carousel

Get every slide in six steps.

  1. Open the carousel post

Find the post in Instagram. You will see dots under the image if it has several slides.

  2. Copy the post link

Tap the three dots (⋯) or share icon and choose Copy link. You can do this on any slide.

  3. Open the carousel downloader

Come back to this page in your browser.

  4. Paste the link

Paste the link into the box at the top, or use the Paste button.

  5. Press Download

Press Download and wait a few seconds while the slides load.

  6. Save the slides

Press the download button under each slide you want. Saving them from first to last keeps the order in your gallery.

Instagram’s buttons may be called “Share”, show a paper-plane icon or appear as three dots (⋯) depending on your device. The post must be public, and results depend on what Instagram returns for that post.

Supported content

Which carousels can you download?

Carousels can contain photos, videos or both. Here is how each case is handled.

  • Photo-only carousels Supported

Every image slide from a public post is listed and can be saved.

  • Mixed photo and video carousels Conditional

The image slides are shown. For video slides, paste the same link into the Video Downloader. If the first slide is a video, the result may show only that video.

  • Video-only carousels Conditional

Use the Video Downloader. It usually returns the first video of the post.

  • Single photo or Reel links Conditional

These are not carousels. Use the Photo or Reels downloader instead.

  • Carousels from private accounts Not supported

Posts that need a login to view cannot be accessed.

Device guides

Saving carousel slides on your device

Each slide is saved as its own image file.

Android phones

Each slide is saved in the Downloads folder. In Google Photos, look under Library → Downloads. Save slides in order (1, 2, 3…) so they appear in the right order.

iPhone and iPad

Safari saves each image to Files → Downloads. To move several slides to Photos, select them in Files, tap share and choose Save Images.

Windows computers

Slides go to your Downloads folder as separate JPG files. Sort the folder by “Date modified” to see them in the order you saved them.

Mac computers

Slides are saved to Downloads. Select them all and open them in Preview to flip through them like the original post.

Menus can look a little different depending on your browser and system version.

Quality and formats

Slide quality and file format

Format: each slide is saved as a separate JPG image.

Size: slides are stored by Instagram at up to about 1080 pixels wide. All slides in a carousel share the same shape — square, portrait (4:5) or landscape — chosen by the person who posted it.

Quality limits: you get the same images Instagram stores. Instagram compresses images on upload, so text on infographics can look slightly soft when you zoom in. We do not resize, crop or watermark the slides.

No ZIP file: slides are downloaded one by one. This keeps the tool simple and lets you skip slides you don’t want.

Troubleshooting

Carousel problems and solutions

If something goes wrong, try these steps.

  • Invalid Instagram URLCarousel links must contain /p/, for example instagram.com/p/ABC123/. Copy the link again from the post.
  • Download button not respondingRefresh the page. Check that your ad blocker is not stopping the page from working.
  • Private or removed postIf the post needs a login or no longer exists, it can’t be downloaded.
  • Slides do not loadWait a moment and try again. Large carousels can take a little longer.
  • Fewer slides than expectedVideo slides are not listed here. Use the Video Downloader for those.
  • Text in slides looks blurryThis comes from Instagram’s compression. Ask the creator for the original file if you need it sharper.
  • Slides are in the wrong orderGalleries sort by save time. Save slides from first to last.
  • Network or browser problemsTry another browser, or switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
Privacy and security

Privacy when downloading carousels

  • Your post link is sent to our server and our download service to look up the slides. We do not keep a history of the links you paste.
  • Slide details stay in a temporary cache for about 5 minute(s).
  • Images pass through our server to your browser and are not stored.
  • No login and no personal details are needed.

More details are in our Privacy Policy.

Responsible use

Respect the work behind every slide

Carousels — especially infographics and guides — often take hours to design. Keep downloaded slides for personal use, or save your own posts. Do not repost someone else’s slides as your own. If you want to share them, ask the creator and give credit, or simply share the original Instagram post. Follow Instagram’s terms and the laws where you live.

Explained

Why carousels are worth saving

Carousels are one of the most useful formats on Instagram. Because they can hold many slides, creators use them to share information that would not fit in one picture:

  • Step-by-step guides — recipes, workouts, phone tips or study notes, one step per slide.
  • Infographics — facts, charts and checklists that are easy to read on a phone.
  • Photo albums — a full set of pictures from a trip, a wedding or an event.
  • Product pages — the same item from different angles, with sizes and prices.
  • Comparisons — “before and after” or “this vs that” posts.

Saving the slides lets you look at a guide offline, follow a recipe in the kitchen without scrolling, or keep your own album safe outside the app.

For creators

If you make carousels yourself, these habits help you and your audience:

  1. Keep your design files. Save the original slides from your design app. They are sharper than any download from Instagram.
  2. Use a clear first slide. The first slide is what people see in the feed, so make the topic obvious.
  3. Number your slides (1/8, 2/8…) for guides. It helps readers and makes saved slides easy to sort.
  4. Use one shape for all slides. Instagram crops every slide to the shape of the first one.
  5. Back up published posts. If you lost the originals, this tool can give you copies of your published slides.
Choose the right tool

Carousel Downloader or Photo Downloader?

Both tools can show all the image slides of a multi-photo post, so you can use either one. The Carousel Downloader is simply focused on albums: its checks expect a post link (with /p/) and its help text is written for multi-slide posts.

Use this quick guide:

  • Post with many photos → Carousel Downloader (or Photo Downloader).
  • Post with one photo → Photo Downloader.
  • Post with videos → Video Downloader for the video slides.
  • Reel → Reels Downloader.
  • Story or Highlight → Story Downloader, or the Highlights tool when it is available.

If you paste a link into a tool that doesn’t support it, you will see a clear message telling you to use a different tool — nothing breaks.
