What is an Instagram Highlights Downloader?
Highlights are the round icons you see under a profile’s bio. Each one is a collection of old Stories that the account owner chose to keep on their profile. Normal Stories disappear after 24 hours, but Highlights stay until the owner removes them. Businesses use them for menus, prices and FAQs; creators use them for tutorials, travel series and reviews.
An Instagram Highlights downloader saves the photos and videos inside a public Highlight. You copy the Highlight link, paste it here and press Download. Insta Video Download asks Instagram for that Highlight and gives you the media it returns as normal files — JPG for photos and MP4 for videos.

How to download Instagram Highlights
Six steps from profile to file.
Open the profile
Go to the account in Instagram and find the Highlight circles under the bio.
Copy the Highlight link
Tap the Highlight, then tap the three dots (⋯) and choose Copy link.
Open this tool

Paste it into the box. It should contain

Save the media
Press the download button under each photo or video you want to keep.
On some devices the copy option is under the three dots (⋯), on others in the share sheet. The Highlight must be on a public profile, and the result depends on what Instagram returns for that link.

Downloading Highlights on your devices
Where to find the link and where the files go.
Android phones
Copy the link from the Highlight’s three-dot menu in the Instagram app. Downloaded files go to Downloads and usually appear in your Gallery.
iPhone and iPad
Copy the link in the app, then download in Safari. Files are saved to Files → Downloads. Use Save Video or Save to Photos to move them to Photos.
Windows computers
Open the profile on instagram.com, click the Highlight and copy the browser address while it plays. Files are saved to Downloads.
Mac computers
Copy the Highlight address from Safari or Chrome. The downloaded photos and videos are in Downloads.
Menus may look different depending on your device and app version.
Highlight quality and formats
Formats: photos are saved as JPG and videos as MP4.
Resolution: Highlights are made from Stories, so they are vertical (9:16) and usually served at up to 1080 × 1920 pixels. You get what Instagram provides, unchanged.
Older Highlights: Stories saved years ago were often uploaded at lower quality, so older Highlights may look softer than new ones.
Stickers and music: text drawn on the Story is usually included, but interactive stickers and some music stickers may not appear in the file.
Highlights problems and fixes
Try these steps if the download doesn’t work.
- Invalid Instagram URLThe link must contain

Highlights are curated by the account owner. Keep downloads for your own reference, or back up your own Highlights. Ask before you share or reuse anyone else’s photos and videos, and always follow Instagram’s terms and your local laws.

How Instagram Highlights work
Highlights are built from Stories, so they follow some of the same rules — with one big difference: they don’t expire.
- Made from old Stories. The account owner picks Stories from their archive and groups them into a Highlight with a name and a cover.
- Shown on the profile. Highlights appear as circles under the bio and stay there until the owner edits or deletes them.
- Same audience as the profile. If the profile is public, its Highlights are public. If it is private, only approved followers can see them.
- Can change over time. Owners can add or remove items at any time, so a Highlight you see today may be different next week.
Because Highlights can change, saving an important item — such as a menu or price list — is a good idea if you need it later.
Using Highlights well on your own profile
For businesses and creators, Highlights are like a small menu on your profile. A few simple tips:
- Use short names such as “Prices”, “Menu”, “FAQ” or “Reviews”, so visitors know where to tap.
- Keep them up to date. Remove old offers and add new information regularly.
- Use matching covers with simple icons in your brand colours so your profile looks tidy.
- Back them up. Download your own Highlights now and then, so you have a copy if you lose access to your account.
Before you download a Highlight
Run through this short list and most downloads will work the first time:
- Is the profile public? Open it in a private browser window. If you can see the Highlights without logging in, the tool can usually reach them too.
- Did you copy a Highlight link? It must contain
/stories/highlights/. A profile link or a Story link will not work here. - Is the item still there? Owners can remove items at any time. Check that the item you want still appears.
- Is it the item you want? Copy the link while the exact photo or video is on screen.
- Is your connection stable? Videos are larger than photos and need a steady connection to download.
Highlight covers and names
Each Highlight has a small round cover and a short name under it. The cover can be one of the Story images or a custom icon that the owner uploaded. These covers are part of the profile design and are shown very small.
This tool focuses on the photos and videos inside the Highlight, not the round cover. If you are an account owner and want to redesign your covers, keep your original icon files in a folder so you can update them easily later. Many brands use simple line icons in one colour for a clean look.
Remember that a Highlight’s name is chosen by the owner and can change. If you save items for reference, write down the account and Highlight name so you know where they came from.
